Hoosier Cup

In 2009 the Hoosier Cup Challenge was born. It is a single elimination team match play event with Indiana disc golf clubs bringing there top eight players. Clubs will play 4 doubles matches, 8 singles matches using all 8 guys on the team. Win the match get a point for the team, halve the match get a half point for the team. The first club to 6.5 points wins the team match. The 2013 event will take place April 27th at France Park in Logansport. Future events will typically be the last weekend in April. Look for information upcoming about how to try out for the 2014 team.

Fives For Fort Wayne!

Congrats to the Fort Wayne team for bringing home their 5th straight Hoosier Cup. This one in thrilling fashion over Peru in a match that came down the final paring. In the morning match with Springborough, Fort Wayne got off to a sterling start winning all 4 of the doubles matches. Leading 4-0 going into the singles matches, everyone played loose and cruised to a 9-3 win. The battle in the 2nd match against Peru would be one for the ages. 3 of the 4 doubles matches came down to the last hole, with Jeremy/Jason, Chris/Chad, & Brent/Mitch coming up clutch and winning all three of them for a 3-1 lead after doubles. In singles Peru came out firing winning 3 of the first 5 matches to cut the lead to 5-4. Steve and Chad were able to come up with some bigh wins in the first 5 parings. Jason then came in from the 6th match with a win to make it 6-4. Peru won match seven to bring it to 6-5 with only the last paring still on the course. This match was all square with 3 holes to go leading to much discussion about a possible upcoming playoff. Brent didn't let the talk last long as he won the next two holes to finish off some wonderful play by the entire team for a 7-5 win and a fifth straight title for the Fort. A few other highlights were Paul hitting a monster 80 footer on the first hole of the first match to set the tone for the day and Chad finishing things off by winning the ace money in the throw off.
